About Michael

Michael Crowley NYC

Born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, now based in NYC, Michael is a passionate actor, singer, and artist seeking to help others exercise their capacity for empathy, which he believes is key to fostering connections and building community.

His journey to a career in theatre has been winding, having studied English Education at the University of Delaware, then working for several years there as a college Admissions Counselor. Though education and equitable access to education will always be important to Michael, he never lost sight of one of his greatest passions during those years— performance. Storytelling. Michael began performing in shows at the age of sixteen which lit a fire in him, and he has never stopped since.
One of his most notable performances was as Christopher Boone in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, for which he won the 2019 Baltimore BroadwayWorld Regional Award for Best Actor in a Play (Non-Equity).

It took the Covid-19 pandemic and quarantine, during which we all had the unique opportunity to pause and reevaluate our passions and values, for Michael to understand the importance of pursuing the kinds of dreams that make this delicate gift of life worth living. Realizing that theatre is what makes him feel most fulfilled and like he is contributing in the best way he can, he knew he wanted to pursue a formal education in the art. He packed his belongings and moved to New York City to study at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA). There, Michael has studied under legendary theatre-makers such as Tony Award nominee Kenita Miller, one of his most impactful mentors. Michael graduated from AMDA’s Musical Theatre Conservatory program in Fall 2022.

We'll see how Michael's story continues from here, but for now he is simply grateful to be pursuing an art form he loves and hopes to make a positive impact on the world through his storytelling.

That you are here—that life exists and identity,
That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.
